Who doesn't love stain glass windows? This was in the an old hotel (completely restored) on Jekyll Island called Jekyll Island Club Hotel. This was a place where the elite went for their winter vacations.

What I Love about Blogging..
I love the different ways you can find blog sites. When you go from one to another, reading every ones favorites or followers. It is like a crazy map. You really are not sure how you got there but you are glad you found it. Maybe a treasure map....all I know is it is fun. I love being able to go all over the world in a few easy clicks. Thanks to all who post such interesting and thoughtful blogs, pictures and past experiences and memories. Thank you to all who share their happiness and their sorrows. I especially want all those to know who post their struggles whether it be with illness or losses that I lift you up to the Lord. Someone told me once that when you see someone (in the case of blogging we are seeing each other in a way as well) whether they look happy or sad you can say a quick prayer. I think it is the Holy Spirit that reminds us we are not alone. We all have good times and bad times. When we lift each other up especially as strangers I think it makes us connected. I know I feel stronger. We are all in this life together. I saw a bumper sticker yesterday "CoExist". All of us are unique and the same.
Have a great Sunday and a great week. CoExist

Sunset, the gift of beauty.
A view of the sky in Colorado. These pictures are for me a rarity. Some days the sun just sets but some days the sky is so alive with color that your heart soars. This was the best sunset I have seen in a long time. It really helped to be out west and up on a bit of a mountain for a great view of our beautiful revealing world.

Much better pics of Hummingbird
Took these this morning. Just used automatic setting and pushed the zoom as far as it would go. Also used the gizmo that lets you take about 8 pics in a row after pushing the button. They turned out pretty good.

If you have never been to Asheville and you live not too far, you should really go and visit the house, gardens and winery. It is beautiful. The town of Asheville is very nice. A lovely place to visit.

Reflections on the Lake
Went over to the college before sunset, right at dusk to try and get a shot of the lake with some reflections. Maybe this is acceptable. You can see the out lines pretty good. Security came by and said they like everyone to wrap it up around dusk because critters come out and needless to say, as my feet were just inches from the lake, I high tailed it out of there.
No need to tell me twice.

I did it, fixed my dryer.
Print by J. Howard Miller--We can Do It Rosie the Riveter
I finally fixed my dryer. I am so happy. I was determined to do it. My neighbor fixed my lawnmower. I am very thankful. Total rounded amount spent was $38.00. That included a ratchet set which I did not have. So now I can get those crazy screws off when necessary.
Thankful for neighbors and helpful sales people.

Outdoor Wednesday
Free concert in downtown Chicago. What could be more enjoyable than being outside, listening to the symphony, and food. We were only visiting and happened upon this last year. Everyone was having such a great time. The weather was perfect. The music was wonderful. I love the way it was designed with the speakers going all across the lawn overhead. Hardly a bad seat on the lawn.

The Horton House on Jekyll Island
http://windowviews2.blogspot.com/
This is a ruin on Jekyll Island, Georgia of Major William Horton's house 1736. They have preserved it very nicely. Tabby is the type of building material that was used. It is made of equal parts lime, water, sand, oyster shells, and ash.

mimosa leaves
Mimosa trees have such delicate leaves. Enlarge the pictures to see a little more detail. This tree came up in my backyard over 15 yrs ago. I really never thought it would last this long because the roots are in the side of the creek. A bit unstable looking but still it stands tall and firm.
Have a great week.

Saturday, my special day....
This little guy was on my car antenna.
A little color in the front of my house.
A little color in the front of my house.
Canopy of trees looking up at the sky in my backyard.
I really enjoyed my Saturday. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday.
P.S. I try to be a good neighbor as well. I filled his lawnmower up with gas and blew it off real good with my handy dandy blower. Took it back, put it in his shed and let him know so he could lock his shed up.
On Saturdays I do not have to wake up and go to work but I always have a list in my head of things I should and would like to do. Most of the time I get something accomplished but first I start drinking coffee, get on the computer, read blogs, drift away on the computer surfboard. Okay I have spent more than an hour just piddling with the mouse so it is time to get moving.
Last night I noticed that my dryer is not getting hot. Oh man I hate the laundry mat. So I decided to get out my book "fix it yourself". It could be the fuse (did not know they had a fuse) or the heating coil. Now I know about that. But how do I know for sure that is the problem. My book showed me how to replace it. Well I will get both the fuse and the coil. So off to Fox appliances (they are the major I mean major parts store for everything) before noon. It is now 10:30 so I better get going. Also my lawnmower is not working and I am not ready to buy another one. I have a neighbor looking at it.

OK, so what happened to Fox being opened on Sat. They are closed. Only place to get those kind of parts. Talked to my neighbor, he is going to look at my dryer. Yippee. He also let me borrow his lawnmower. He is going to fix my poor pitiful one. So first I just cut the back which was mostly weeds (so much tree canopy nothing grows) and the front is a bugger. Thick. I have to keep stopping. Sun is beating down on me and I hope I do not have a sunstroke. You know when you stomach feels funny, hum.....definitely time to break. Plus I cannot get the wheels up. I am sure it is easy to do...but not right now.
This blog should be about neighbors. If anyone is looking for a house check out the neighbors first. If friendly then consider the house. If they never come out of the house, well I would keep looking. It is not that you want them around your business all the time but we should be all be about helping each other.

Well I finished my yard work, used my blower. I love my blower. It beats sweeping the driveway or using water. Talked with my friend who had been doing yard work as well and we decided to go out for Thai food. We have a lovely place distanced between us. We always order Nam Sod ?? and split it. This is a wedge of cabbage, ground pork with spices, cilantro, lemon grass I think, peanuts and scallions. We order peanut sauce on the side. I always order cashew nut chicken and Thai iced coffee. Yummy. We were stuffed and I have more than enough for tomorrow.

More about the beach....
I love the beach. Nothing like listening to the surf, seagulls flying close to you especially when you have food, just sitting in the sand and digging. I think the ocean is soothing. I like to walk on the beach especially when the sun goes down and the sand gets cool under your feet. You are always looking out for treasures; shells, driftwood, many things you cannot even name. I have found seaglass and coral pieces. Once I found a dollar bill on the beach.
I also love the colors at the beach. The shades of blue, all those different colors on the shells such as corals, tans, beiges, greys. The faded weathered wood fences. Sea oats, nothing like a sea oat waving in breeze especially when you know it is protected by law. Taboo to pick.
There is not really much on the beach but everything is so beautiful, you just want to take it all home and look at it over and over again. Some sand is fine and white while other beaches are made from pulverized shells that looks like cornmeal.
I will always have fond memories of the beach. My whole life has been going to the beach. I will never tire of it.
