I came over here from Moannie's, after reading your comment about "Life of Pi" and your question about which ending she believed in. For me, I believe in Richard Parker! :-)
I found a critic's review and - while I don't agree with - I enjoyed reading about a dozen or so of the comments there. They made me want to reread the book.
I have a signed copy of the book, "To M: May your lifeboat overcome every storm" - November 8, 2002. I can't believe seven years have passed since then. He sure went on to become famous. http://blogcritics.org/books/article/the-life-of-pi-by-yann/page-5/
It is colorful and very lively, great photo. Like Eileen, the closest I have been to Chicago is O'Hare on several occasions.
My mallard photo? It is straight from the camera as are most of my photos. I think I probably cropped it slightly but he was at the edge of the water next to the walkway. The light that day was perfect, I moved around to get the reflection. I don't own Photo shop or similar programs, it's not that I don't like them but it more of a personal challenge with myself to improve my photo skills. Plus twenty years ago it was just me and my SLR, no digital changes possible. Judy
Happy CC weekend! :)
